US Design Patent No. 74,749 was granted to Henry D. Kadel on March 20th, 1928 for a new incandescent lamp design. This unique design was a flat pill-shaped figural light bulb in the shape of a daisy. The lamp pictured here is such an example designed by Mr. Kadel in one of at least two different colors. Large figural lamps such as this one were advertised as decorative lighting that could be used and enjoyed throughout the year. Often they were used in decorative Newell Post lamps in the Art Nouveau style.
