This lamp illustrates the first use by General Electric to incorporate the more efficient tungsten filament in a Christmas lamp. These lamps first appeared in 19161. and examples with top exhaust tips are somewhat scarce since they were only made for about two years. These lamps were simply stamped "MAZDA" on the base as shown above. In 1918 a tipless method of construction was used to manufacture these lamps. |
