  This Maxim lamp was found with the lampholder in place as shown. Removing the lampholder reveals the name "Maxim" etched around the neck of the lamp. The bottom of the lampholder has a female thread, apparently for fastening to a gas light fixture. This lamp is an early example of Hiram Maxim's work in the electric lamp field.
