This Birdseye Crucifix lamp differs from most as it employs a mica disk directly below the glowing Crucifix. Glass “pipes” are also used around the current-carrying lead wires to mute any glow discharge below the Crucifix, which would detract from the central focal point of this lamp – the glowing Crucifix. This construction typically signifies a very early glow lamp. |
