  P&S two piece separable plug combination. This design apparently allows the plug body to revolve around the screw base body while still maintaining an electrical connection. "3 AMP 250 V. PAT. FEB. 26 1907 P&S" is embossed into the underbody. This adapter appears to be the same as illustrated in US patent #996,620.
