I'm I right in thinking that Modern Bubblers don't have this Pumice in them?
When lit, I get small to large bubbles from under the slug.
Quote from: Christmas Lamp on October 10, 2006, 12:01:42 pmI'm I right in thinking that Modern Bubblers don't have this Pumice in them?I thought that only the "oilers" had the bits of pumice in them, and the methylene chloride vials had another substance stuck in the bottom of the tube used to aid in the bubbling action. Maybe I'm wrong though as I am just beginning to learn more about these old lights.? Since I have received this bubble light, I have been researching it more, mainly through the bubble light identification page on http://www.oldchristmaslights.com? My knowledge is still pretty limited...
in traditional bubble lights from NOMA i believe that they used salt and/or sugar as these do not disolve in Methylene Chloride. in the royal bubble lights they used fine sand.
Does anyone have any photos of this, so that I know what I'm looking For?
