does any one know of a suppier
« on: December 07, 2014, 08:13:55 am »
I still decorate with the old c6 and c7 lights.
The problem is getting replacement bulbs.

I use to be able to get them from Paul.
And some from Cindy Chipps.
Cindy does not have much any more.
Paul is no longer with us.
I have looked into importing light bulbs.
I'm not sure what we will do in that market yet.
One our two people seamed interested.
But it would tare more them that to do it

I looked at reproducing some of the older c6 light strings.
It could be done.
The problem is the cost, and will they sell.

I looked at one set of new c6 bubble lights they wanted $180 for it.
They were a good looking product.  A new American made set.
The cost was more them I would pay my self.

I designed a produce line 45 years ago.
I trained to be a tool and die maker.
The plastic parts can be made. For a price.
Tooling does cost money.
The problem is finding, lights to go into them.

Few incandlesnt lights bulbs are made in the USA.
I have sent letters to each of the companies to see if they had light bulbs that would work in CHRISTMAS light strings. The specs are
E 10 base 15 volt 3 watt
E 12 base 120 volt 5 watt
None sent back a reply.

The glass bubble light tubes are a another matter.
they take a lot of heat to make not sure if they could be made by hand

Thank you for the reply.
Still looking for a place to purchase c6 replacement bulbs and replacement bulbs to go into c6 and c7 bubble lights.
For now I would like to find some one who is importing and would sell some bulbs.
In time we want to start a company to reproduce the old c6 and c7 lights.
May be in time we will have bulbs made.

Christmas lamp the new tubes for the bubble lights cost about $4.50 each.
I did not ask if he would export them.
