Unusual 3-bulb splitter made in Germany
« on: July 31, 2010, 11:46:12 am »
Hello!  I've been trying to find more info on the below light socket adapter/splitter.  Initially, I thought I'd like to find more, but, alas, cannot, and perhaps that's because I don't know what it really should be called.  It's porcelain and brass, and has Germany stamped on the bottom.  Thoughts?  Thanks! Jason

Hi,

This would have been used in a standard lamp to convert from a single lamp to 3 lamps, in Germany Holland these standing lamps would have a very large shade and could easily accomodate the extra lamps, you probably would have more chance of seeing this item in main land Europe.     Peter

These splitters are more common in the US and the majority were made by Benjamin Electric. I have a large, 4 way splitter that is very uncommon. The 2 and 3 socket ones are more commonly seen.

Yes... I am missing one of the fiber insulators....
