I have several heating elements called Glocoils-a ceramic cone with a Edison base at the "peak" of the cone, and a heating element wrapped around the cone. It's listed as a 220volt coil. I suspect it's for those old sattelite-dish shaped space heaters of the '30's and '40's,but I'm not sure. I have a few, some made by Eagle Electric, the other by a company called Rodale. I fished them out of the trash a few years ago. They're new,and still in the box.I've fired up one(on 110) and it got just a bit too hot to touch, but not red hot. Any ideas on these things?
