New to all of this
« on: October 18, 2006, 03:12:28 pm »
Hi, I've had a few lamps left to me. I' don't know a deal about them so I thought I'd start with one.
The lamp pictured is a GEC one made Germany.
The markings are 8v 16cp, H4094/343

I've looked on the web but am unable to date it.

Can anyone help please?

It's also a challenge trying to photograph it !!

Martyn

Welcome to the forum Martyn,

Given the voltage, this appears to be a tungsten filament automobile headlamp bulb.? A close-up photo of the filament may provide more clues.? I can't tell you a precise date, but I would guess around 1915, plus or minus a few years...
