Trying to find arc lamp replacement or equivalent
« on: July 31, 2007, 09:12:21 pm »
I have a 12" signaling searchlight that has to be from WWII or Korean War.  The lamp is starting to loose some of its illumination and I'm trying to find a replacement part or equivalent.
The only wording on the lamp is PAT'D, RADIANT and the letter S.  No numbers.
On the two screws holding the lamp prongs in is this nomenclature: HL P 1310.
The searchlight itself is a Navy model 95101, MFG. type CL-45 built by Curtis Lighting, inc., Chicago.
Am I wasting my time or are there companies that still make arc lamps I could use ?
  Thanks for any help
  Rudy

  Scratching my head here.
I figured I'd get at least someone, anyone by now telling me or steering me in some direction whether feasible or not as to anyone who might sell arc lamps.
This message board was kinda my last hope.  I really want to salvage this antique searchlight if I can

Rudy,

I?m sorry that there wasn?t a reply to your inquiry, but I?m a bit confused.  What kind of part you looking for specifically?  Is it a light bulb of some sort, or some kind of carbon-arc setup?  I guess more information might help.  If you?re looking for a replacement bulb then a picture may help too if you post it here.
