GE 2kw w/ G38 Mogul Bi-post Base is T??
« on: September 25, 2005, 12:49:20 pm »
I am really hoping some people can help me identify this GE bulb.  It has a G38 Mogul Bi-post base and it seems like it is a T30 with a C13 filiment, though I am really not sure (It is sort of like a EER/120V/2000W ANSI on <a href="http://www.donsbulbs.com/" target="_blank">http://www.donsbulbs.com/[/url]).  It is rated 120v 2kw and has "base up" on the top of the bulb (it is an older spotlight bulb).  The M.O.L. is approx. 9.5 inches and the L.C.L. is approx. 5.5 inches.  It is a clear glass bulb thought the inside is a little darkened in areas.  Would this have that uranium glass?

Here are some pics:

Hello Okeuday, welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing the pictures.? It seems as if you have already identified this bulb as well as any of us could here.? I’m not aware of uranium glass being used in the seals of any projection lamps such as this one.? Certain high powered vacuum tubes, yes, but not any of the lamps like this that I have come across.? You’ll know for sure if you can expose the bulb to a UV source (have a “blacklight” handy?).? The glass will glow that characteristic green color…
