book preview: History of GEC and the Marconi Osram Valve
3.3.2005

History of GEC and the Marconi Osram Valve

This 132 page book details the history of the British electrical giant - The General Electric Company Limited. Founded in 1889, this company went on to be one of the largest electrical manufacturers in the industrialized world. This book details the history of the company and one of its many products - the radio valve (or tube), from its beginning during World War one and for the next 70 years of manufacture. The book has 150 photos and illustrations of valves from the earliest days (many from the authors own collection), 28 pages of interesting text, 36 pages of valve/tube tables including receiving and transmitting types, military types, British Post Office types, as well as several dozen lists of valve/tube equivalents. There are also 19 advertisements for old Marconi Osram Valves and photos and illustrations of radio related products. This book has been re-released, due to popular demand and is well worth reading. Signed copies are available from the author at the address below. The price is US $35.00 per copy, including air mail postage. The book can be ordered from:
