Crater lamps were developed during the late 1920s to fulfill a need for the emerging technologies of television and facsimile. Crater lamps produce an intense and focused beam of light. Though unmarked, the design of the lamp shown here shares many similarities with Daniel Mcfarlan Moore’s US patent #1,834,251. Since the patent was assigned to General Electric, it’s assumed this lamp was made by GE. Moore’s patent can be viewed here for comparison. |
