I recently got a hold of a circular fluoro tube which had the name ATLAS 40w USA printed on it. I was under the impression that atlas was under Thorn lighting Uk
but what i found unusual was the fact it was made in the us. can anyone give me info on this topic

Atlas / Thorn only ever made linear and U-tube fluorescent lamps. The circular types were always sourced in, usually from Sylvania's plant in Germany, Philips in Thailand, or from GE USA. So what you almost certainly have is an American GE tube that was made up specially for Thorn/Atlas.
