Title: help identifiying use of this mazda
Post by: byronleer on January 26, 2004, 11:48:00 am
Hello Group:
I was hoping that someone had a good idea what this Edison Mazda bulb was used for. It's sticker says: ST. RY. Headlight. 56 Watt/115 volt. I hope this link will provide a picture.

Byron,
the ST RY designation is for street railway, which, I believe, means it was used to light the interior of what were referred to as street cars or trolley cars.

OOPS! I just re read your post, and saw headlight in the description. So it would be a streetcar headlamp bulb, I believe.

Hey, I remember seeing you win that bulb. Great buy, you got it real cheap too!  (http://www.bulbcollector.com/ubb/smile.gif) I have a similar bulb, it is a 400w ballopticon bulb, the main difference is that it is a little larger.
