Title: European High Pressure CLEAR mercury lamps wanted desperatel
Post by: Mónico González on December 01, 2003, 08:24:00 pm
Hi everybody!
From many years ago, I'm looking for standard High Pressure Mercury lamps with CLEAR outer envelope (or at least frosted, but NOT fluorescent vanadate coated), not only for collecting purposes, but for exterior lighting because I like strongly their colour appearance.
I have actually a couple of them (Philips HP's and Thorn-Emi MB-U's), some of them are at service in my street lighting fixtures, but I wouldn't like to run out of them, so I need some spare lamps to replace actuals very soon for new ones (keeping olders for my little "Museum") and to guarantee replacement of them in a future.
Regrettably, here in Spain is virtually impossible to find them today, so, I would like that someone could give me any clues about where to find them.
I may to say that the lamps I need must be of European type, 80 and 125 watt rated, fitted with regular ES (E27) caps.
I will need at least 20-25 units of them in each of two above mentioned power ratings.
Any info would be higly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and best regards.

Hi Monico,

You can buy these lamps from the UK subsidiary of Iwasaki EYE Lighting, www.iwasaki.co.uk (http://www.iwasaki.co.uk)   They keep clear mercury on the shelf from 40W to 175W and can order them in up to 2000W.

For clear tubular mercury in 250W and 400W its cheaper to get Sylvania lamps, still a standard item, which can be purchased via www.glplc.com (http://www.glplc.com)

Best regards,

James.
