Title: Insane prices?
Post by: Tim on February 13, 2001, 06:31:00 pm
Ok, someone tell me what I'm missing here - surely they missed a decimal place when setting this price?!

I had some bulbs like those, only clear. They had that same odd, sort of squashed-looking globe. I bought'em three for 50 cents at Stuff's Surplus, and used 'em in a bicycle tail light. Definitely slipped a digit(or two) here, I think.

WOW?!?!  (http://www.bulbcollector.com/ubb/eek.gif)

Those little bulbs resemble the shape of the bulbs used in, among others, Kristal Star christmas light bulbs (see my web page) except for the red colour of course. Well I know prices on Ebay are usually much higher than you may find somewhere else but that`s ridiculous! All I can say is best of luck to the seller but don`t hold your breath!

Unless there really is something special about them that we`re all missing?

Hi All, I saw these use on metal toy robots back in the late 50's. They were used in the robot's eyes. Boy what a price must be a nice box. Bill

Here`s another one I found...

It seems the seller is being just a little over-optimistic! It`s not even the right box. Still- how are they to know better, since there are no real published values for antique bulbs.

Chris, that one has been relisted now at a more sane starting bid of $5.00.  At this writing, it has received only one bid.

In regard to the ebay auction those lamps have been known to go for 2-3 dollars each and i have had inquiries from collectors that needed the "real" deal for their toys
go figure  I had a recent thing with square mr-16 that were discontinued you usually see only rounds i got 25.00 each  now thats a missing decimal place!!!
