That's funny.  No mention of hiram Maxim, inventor of the machine gun in 1880, a steam powered aireoplane in 1894 that did fly and a working incandescent lamp patened the day before Edisons.

I've never seen any bulbs that were made before Edison's. Do any of these still exist? I only collect radio tubes, so that may be why I haven't seen any. Although I'm not a collector, I'm curious  about what these early bulbs looked like.
