Title: Going tubular for that antique look...

To this date, the tubular (designation 'T') "picture lamps" are the only bulbs I know of that use an uncoiled tungsten filament. I love them for their "antique" style, the long, exposed filament being reminiscent of the carbon lamps of the last century. I love to use them in my old fixtures even more so than the so-called "reproductions" not only because of their lower cost (though still pricey @ $3.00/bulb) and greater availability but because I think that they are like a natural ancestor of those beautiful, bygone bulbs.

What are your thoughts on this?
