Title: Genuine T-H Bulb
Post by: Edisonian on November 01, 2010, 02:35:21 pm
Last week I purchased a genuine Thomson Houston bulb on eBay for $382. It was eBay item #260679709964. The brass base is stamped with the usual T-H patent dates (Jan. 7, 79 and May 12, 85) and other info (Man'f'd by T-H Elec. Co. Lynn, Mass.). I received the bulb today, and it is in perfect condition, so $382 seems like a bargain to me. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Hi, it's a nice bulb.  Looking at the list of bidders, you topped a couple of the usual high rollers.  It is not an unreasonable price to pay for the bulb, but you did not steal it away, either.

May this be the beginning of a wonderful journey into light-bulb land!

Thanks, Chris. I used to be a major collector of bulbs, but sold my collection to John Davis in about 1991. I'm out of touch with current pricing. Take care. -- Greg
