Title: GE test or development lamps.
Post by: MrGizmos on November 16, 2009, 03:23:58 pm
I've come across some older though, certainly not antique, lamps from a defense contractor. One or more is from the early 50's and several from mid-late 60's. Are these considered collectible?
Thank you, Sal

It looks somewhat more recent, rather like a special metal halide projection lamp from the early 70s, but difficult to tell from your photo.  Can you post a picture outside of the plastic bag?

Please take great care in handling this or similar lamps.
Many such lamps have a very high internal pressure and can shatter with great violence.

As minimum, safety spectacles should be worn, and some would recomend more elaborate prrecautions, such a full face visor, and protective gloves.

Looks like a modern mercury vapor arc lamp. I have a Sylvania Catalog full of 'em!
