Title: What do I have here?

This was found in a friends shop after he passed away, it was in a small wooden box with "16 Candle Power Lamps" written on the lid in pencil. It's just under 5" from base to tip and about 2.25" at it's greatest diameter. The filament loops twice.

The writing on the red base states "This Lamp Is Guaranteed As To Patents"

Welcome to the forum.  You have a very common carbon filament light bulb that was most likely made around 1901-1909 era.  The red license tag in the glass stem also tells us this bulb was made by Westinghouse.  It's not terribly collectible among bulb collectors since so many were made and have survived to this day.  Go back to the small wooden box where you found this bulb and tell us about the other bulbs, if they differ from this one.

Thanks for the quick reply Tim. It was the only bulb in the box, sorry.

Is it even worth putting up on Ebay? I'm sort of committed to getting the guys widow some cash for the stuff he accumulated.

It's roughly worth $5-$10 if working and may appeal more to those looking to re-lamp their antique fixtures with period correct light bulbs.
