I suppose this is not considered vintage since I bought it about 30 years ago. I took a magnifier to the base and I do not see a manufacturer. It says SXL25W in black and then USA imprinted into the metal

looks like a GE "Flair" lamp, I have a number of these myself in the 40W size.

I saw these (http://cgi.ebay.com/P-2-Vintage-GE-STARDUST-RED-SUGARED-Teardrop-Bulbs-1971_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a10Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem300286378430QQitemZ300286378430QQptZLHQ5fDefaultDomainQ5f0QQsalenotsupported) on eBay, reminded me of this thread (not my auction).

Wow, I think the Stardust is it. The only place I ever saw these lights was in the lobby of the old McCormick Spice building in Baltimore down by the harbor. I was getting married and asked where the lights came from because I wanted to use them for my reception. I saved this one bulb.
