Post by: STARMAN on October 10, 2008, 04:25:13 am
i have usa bubble lights and recently bought a transformer like this one > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UK-240V-TO-USA-110V-VOLTAGE-CONVERTER-300-WATT_W0QQitemZ200227467432QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200227467432&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UK-240V-TO-USA-110V-VOLTAGE-CONVERTER-300-WATT_W0QQitemZ200227467432QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200227467432&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) i would now like to know where i can get a U.S.A electric extension cable so i can hide the transformer behind the sofa, to large to have it sticking under the tree. :wink:

Starman,

Maplin (site won't let me post URL but its the obvious at .co.uk) will supply the bits relatively cheaply:-

US 2-pin plug: Maplin part no. HL17T (?1.39 per each);
US 2-pin coupler: Maplin part no. HL19V (?1.49 per each);
suitable cordage: Maplin part no. XR47B (?0.59 per metre);

Other suppliers may be cheaper, but Maplin have the stuff in stock and will post it to you quickly; and it will still be cheaper overall than buying one on eBay.com and paying postage from USA.

Starman,

I'm glad to have been able to help.
Come the season, post a picture of your tree for us all!
