Title: World War II Blackout Light

Hi,
Lamps were developed during World War II for use in the event of air raids. These can be recognized by their black appearance. How these were used is explained in the leaflet shown below.

Bulboa,

Do you know who made this lamp?  I'm just curious as it doesn't look anything like the American made blackout bulbs that I'm familiar with, though the function is obviously the same.

Hi,
This light bulb made PHILIPS - 220V and 40W. Base E27 and tungsten filament

There are 2 authentiic 1942 US War Dept blackout bulbs for sale on ebay right now.......one actually works too. These were the bulbs required to be used in the US.....or full dark drapes
