Title: 1882 American Electric Light Bulb
Post by: bering on February 18, 2001, 09:57:00 pm
Here is a very interesting bulb recently acquired by the Black Cat museum. It is an American Electric Light Co. bulb from 1882. The paper label is initialed by WJH (William J. Hammer). The filament is perfect and notice that there is no tip! It is the earliest tipless, stopper style bulb that I have ever seen. American Electric was the predecessor of the Thompson-Houston Electric Co.

I have to say that is one of the earliest Tipless as well as Stopper Lamps I have ever seen. That is one heck of a super lamp. Congrats on your wonderful new addition to your collection.
