Trying to Value some antique bulbs.
« on: June 05, 2017, 11:01:52 am »
Hi.

Im new to the forum so hello.  :-)

I have an amount of antique bulbs that I am trying to value. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help.

They are new old stock BC fitting drawn tungsten lamps by tungstalite. Most of them are still in the original packaging.

Please see picture. Apologies for the quality but the forum wont allow for me to upload hi res versions. Im happy to provide better and ore images on request. Feel free to email me.

I have 36 of them.

I will look forward to your replies.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Based on the photo, and assuming they are in working condition, I would value them at roughly $10 (USD) each.  Though very old, these bulbs were mass produced and have little value among collectors because so many have survived to this day.

Hi,

You see that's interesting as someone on another forum
Had told me that they are actually quite rare and saught after by collectors. Seems odd that I would get two so different opinions.

I've also noticed that I can find hardly any reference to them on search engines or eBay. I can only find one other picture on 50 pages of google of this brand and that looks much more modern. Which suggests that they are more rare than that...

Anyway, thanks for your advice and I will keep researching.

Aaron

Hi collectors.
If You'll  read " Uncle tungsten ", could find a lot of information  about Tungstalite.
That is a really interesting book.
Regards.
