I collect flashbulbs (the very old kind) and I hope some of you bulbers (is that a word?) might help with some research I am doing.
One of the original photoflash bulbs, the British Sashalite, came with three different base types. One was a very rare "torch" light miniature screw base, designed to be fired on dry cells. There was also a later version using a typical Edison Mazda base. It is the third, a Swan base, I'd like some help on.
I am trying to find out what time span the Swan base (straigh style jacket, two base contacts and two pins) was used in the UK. Does anyone know? Is it still in use? Was this the standard incandescent base over there? This base was used on the Sashalites from around early 1930's to at least 1948.
Any data on the Swan base would be very educational to me.
