Help identify this bulb/socket please

Hello, I am trying to replace the bulb to this socket in my house. I purchased an A19 bulb but it doesn't seem to work when I flip the switch. It screws into the socket fine, thought it would be a E26 size but I guess not. Since it won't turn on. Only works with the original bulb as seen in picture. Need to buy replacement or adapter if it is a different base, to fit an A19.
Just need help identifying this socket size please! I tried Google and it's all confusing.
