Title: Vintage GE 250W Mazda Headlight (1940 - 1950) for Sale
Post by: pspsc on June 17, 2002, 06:18:00 pm

I am a noncollector wondering if anyone is interested in a GE 250W 32V Mazda Headlight, don't know if it works, must be from between 1940 and 1952. I don't have any idea just thought it be too interesting to throw away.

Greetings

Interesting specs, 250 W at 32 V.  Do you know what it's from?  I'm thinking possibly a locomotive, though they may use even more powerful lamps.

If it is from a locomotive, railroadiana collectors may give you better offers than bulb collectors.

FYI if it bears the "Mazda" brand name, and is obviously a vintage item (as there are Mazda branded lamps sold today), you can be safely assured it pre-dates around 1942.

Actually, the Mazda brand was dropped in 1947 as far as I know, so the Mazda headlamp you are offering for sale is from 1947 at the latest, maybe much earlier, I don't know because you don't have a pic of the bulb. Does it have the exhaust tip or not? As far as if it works or not, you need to test it for continuity on an ohmmeter, or look at the filament for any breaks. Good luck!
