I started a bulb database a long while ago. It is made up entirely of past ebay items. It can be found at my site:
http://bulbs.2yr.net/bulbdb.shtmlThe galleries also have useful info about each bulb:
http://bulbs.2yr.net/galleries.shtmlNow that I have a new digital camera, I'll be able to add lots more bulbs. I still have hundreds of bulbs to photograph, so at best I may add them later this year.
It could be done in such a way that members could access and update data with their own specialised knowledge and it could come in useful for collectors
I've tried things like this before (inviting visitors to help with the site), and I know for a fact that it doesn't work. Especially in such a small community like this.
I strongly believe that if a collectible lightbulb database is to be made, that it should be easy to read and understand for non-collectors, otherwise its popularity will never rise. But still, I wouldn't expect it to rise that much anyway, as the general public's interest in collectible lightbulbs is very very low compared with other collectibles.
