Title: Mazda Lamp
Post by: Greg on March 08, 2004, 11:21:00 am
My grandfather passed away and I found a mazda lamp manufactured by National Lighting, a division of GE.  The lamp is still in its corrogated cardboard cover.  The dates on the cover state that the lamp is from a series manufactured sometime between 1909 and 1915.  The lamp has "N & L" etched or painted on it.  There is also a sticker with Banner Mazda on it.  The lamp is in perfect condition.  Would this be worth anything?  Thank you for any help.

A lightbulb from 1909-1915 in perfect working condition is certainly worth something. How much, you ask? Well, I'd need to see a picture of it to be sure... But by the sounds of it, it seems to be a common cage filament Mazda bulb from the 1910's, so if that's the case it may be worth around $15 in perfect working condition (usually $10-$20). Selling this kind of bulb for more than $20 is very hard, but not impossible...

Hi Greg,

Is the word "series" spelled out anywhere on the lamp?  If so, then you may have something more interesting than the typical cage filament Mazda lamp.  As Yoshi said, a picture of it would tell us for sure.

Thanks for all of your help, I will look at the lamp for the word series.  I will also try and get a photo of the lamp.
