ok I have bought many sets from the U.S.A. to use here in the U.K. I use a step down transformer for the purpose, i replace the present day bubble lights when they blow. im not sure if they are c7 or c6? well i open the case and replace after the holidays those that have blown on my set up in the uk, does anyone know where i can purchase spare bulbs now please? or where I can purchase modern day bubblers cheap for me here in the U.K. Thanks.

looks like this forum has gone out with the xmas lights alas

what bulbs are you looking for?
The c7 bubble lighs use a S6 bulb that has a longer base.
I learned from Paul who had lions den that you could take a standard S6 and put a drop of soider on the tip of it to get it to work.
In some of the C7 bubble light I have repaired there was short T4 bulbs with a longer base that will replace a C7 bubble light bulb.
The C7 replacement bulbs have a longer base on them
Some times you can find them at a light bulb sulppy house.
Right now I believe every one is looking for some on who can sulppy.

This is the seller that imports some the replacement bulbs into this country.
They sell new c6 and c7 bubble lights and tubes and replacement lamps to go into the bubble lights. These lights are of her own design she had the mould made for them.
This person is the one were Paul Schofield at lions den bought his bubble lights and bubble light tubes from
He also got the halos ,plactic bells ond other plastic parts from her.
she has sold out of some of the c6 light bulbs.
still has some c6 listed.
this is who I would watch to by lamps for bubble lights and other light bulbs.

I buy from her direct. She is out of the e12 base bubble lights right now.
On ebay she is listing 25 c7 bubble lights for $50 a set of 25.
This includes the top and bottom half of the base the bubble tube and the lamp to go into it.
Not a bad deal.

The best bulb to use for re lamping a candelabra base bubble light is a 6 watt, 130 volt 6S6 bulb.
Make sure the bulb is rated 130 volt not 120 volt, it will last longer.
Try this bulb:

Yes they do ship internationally
Good luck!

not going to believe this I bought 50 of them and they are to small not enough threads on them to reach the bottom of the holder with case on, :-( Thanks anyway.

Yes, this is a problem with the bubble lights. You can no longer get the original bulbs and if you can they are extremely expensive.
Just add a blob of solder to the tip of the bulb. That will extend it enough to make contact in the socket.
As I say, fixing these lights is like restoring an old car- you have to make do with what is available.
