Title: Ineteresting Show
Post by: Scott on November 25, 2000, 09:07:00 pm
Not really bulb-related(or not that I've seen) but it's a decent show. Junkyard Wars on The Learning Channel. Basically, two opposing teams of three each are assigned to build a particular machine from things found in a junkyard. They have tools, but all their materials come from a junkyard. They have 10 hours to build the assigned machine, which may be anything from a cannon to a walking machine. The machine must perform certain tasks, and the one that does it successfully wins.
It comes on Wednesdays around 8;00 PM. One thing that struck me as odd.In a couple of episodes,a group of bikers were pitted against the Royal Army and Navy(it's a British show),to build a cannon and amphibious vehicle. In both instances, the biker group's cannon and amphibicar outperformed the military team's.Kinda makes you wonder who to call on in the event of a national emergency...

They recently held a Junkyard Wars marathon on one of the cable channels here.  Great fun.  My only question is WHERE IS THAT JUNKYARD?  I would love to see one with that kind of fun stuff!
