Title: Are C6 bases & E10 sockets interchangable?
Post by: BeerMan on October 21, 2004, 02:02:00 pm
Hello All:

Trying to rationalize old nomclature to new here.

Are the C6 mazda base sizes and E10 screwed sockets the same size ? IE interchangable ?

Thanks

Yep, "C6" or miniature-screw base is essentially the same as E10. Very early ones may not fit in modern sockets, perhaps because of shallower or more rounded threads, or just wider manufacturing tolerances way back when. But most are a perfect fit, certainly those produced by the time the C6 bulb that most of us are familiar with came in to existance.
