Title: Flashlight Bulb
Post by: Kirk on January 02, 2002, 07:11:00 pm
I am looking to buy a few flashlight bulbs as used in 1915-1920 Eveready pocket flashlights. The one I have is marked Eveready and 2.5V. The glass is white next to the base and clear on top and is kind of "flattened". The overall length is .75" and the glass diameter is .50". Any info as to where I can buy lamps like this would be greatly appreciated.

I think you may try searching on flashlight bulbs or flashlight websites like flashlightz.com for some more information about flashlight bulbs...

You are probably looking for No. 223 bulbs.  Highly prized by toy collectors, as they were often used in headlights.  They do turn up on eBay and I'm sure I've seen an Asian variety being sold in bulk, like 25 or 50 per box.  I don't have any lamp data at the moment but I'll confirm the voltage of 223's later today.

Yes indeed, the 223 is an FE (flat end) lamp and rated voltage is 2.2.  Happy hunting!

Hi Chris,
Man, that question took a looooooonnnnnng time to get a reply, and I thank you! I found a source for 223 bulbs and bought all 30 of them. Paid pretty decent price--less than a buck each! If you want a couple, I would not hesitate to give you them. Free for nothing. I should have them in 2 weeks or so.
Regards,
Kirk

Hi Kirk, I'm glad you found some -- that's a good price!  I don't need any, I have a few, but thank you so much for the offer!
