1956 NOMA Twinkle Lites
« on: April 17, 2005, 12:36:50 am »
Found a set of NOMA Twinkle Lites (1956), unfortunately whoever last owned it left 13 incorrect replacements (C-6 cone). any idea where I can get these little flasher bulbs? they're made by GE and are 6v. there are 7 remaining to the set, one is burned out, other 6 work great.

Are these the little tubular shaped flasher lamps like those found on the transformer sets?

Here are the pictures.

I'm a bit too lazy to make a layout, but did label each file appropriately. there is also a 644KB movie file of the remaining 6 flashers (one is dead) in action. have fun

EDIT: ISP is intermittently closing port 80.

did you check out the .AVI (video) of the bulbs in action? it's quite awesome.

the 6-7 clear ones at the top are the original flashers that were made for/came with this set. the other 13 are standard C-6 cones, meant for series lamps. they glow dimly since they're meant for 15-16v use, but are only getting 8v from the transformer.

It's meant to play using Windows Media player or Winamp

do you have the latest version of Media Player (Ver 10). If you're still running 95, Winamp 5 will handle WMV just fine.

erk, first thing I'd do is scan for malware (Use ad-aware, Spybot SD, etc). if that doesn't help, back up your personal data, format and reinstall Windows.
