Title: GE Meridian like lamp?
Post by: Tim on September 30, 2004, 08:37:00 pm
Here is an interesting bulb that I would like to share pictures of. ?This was one bulb in a lot of four that I recently bought for $3 on eBay! ?At first glance this looks like a fairly typical amber colored carbon filament lamp. ?The glass is actually more yellow than it is amber and really quite attractive. ?Being a tipless lamp I was curious to see how it was exhausted. ?I was surprised to see that this lamp?s stem is identical to those found in much larger GE Meridian lamps. ?For those not familiar with Meridian lamps and their unique design please see this thread for more details and pictures:

The label inside the glass stem carries the ?GE? monogram but not the ?GEM? monogram that is normally found in GE lamps with metalized filaments. ?I assume the filament in this lamp is just a typical carbon filament. ?I have never come across any other bulbs with this complicated glass stem and center exhaust tube except for the large globe shaped Meridian lamps shown in the thread mentioned above. ?I wonder if anyone else has seen this stem structure in ?non-Meridian? GE lamps?
