Title: Shoe-fitting Fluoroscope
Post by: lestersd on February 21, 2001, 06:55:00 pm
Greetings.
Does anyone have an idea where I might learn more about my "X-Ray Shoe Fitter"?  Some of you may remember these from boyhood trips to the local shoe store.  I have documentation dating my particular machine to a 1933 ship date.  It was manufactured by the X-Ray Shoe Fitter Corp. of Milwaukee.
I know that these were a pretty good gimmick for selling childrens shoes until they were phased out due to safety concerns.
I would like to learn more about the history of these machines as well as any information I can get on scarcity, value or how to find other collectors/owners of such devices.

Thanks for reading.
