Title: Where to find G.E. D23 bulbs
Post by: The LED Museum on July 04, 2002, 05:00:00 pm
I'm looking for some General Electric D23 candelabra screw base Christmas bulbs.  They were sold under the names "Satin-Glo" and "Satin-Bright" a few decades back.  They have a satiny, almost irridescent finish to them when off, and they look a lot like common, opaque C7 1/2 Christmas bulbs when on.

On very rare occasion, I'll find a vintage string of Noma C7 1/2 lights with a few of these satin bulbs mixed in with the ordinary opaque painted bulbs; but it seems to be a bit much to buy an entire string of bulbs to get one or two D23's, knowing they might not even work.  But I can't seem to find anyone who sells just the bulbs.  Ideas, anyone?
