Title: Socket Trivia
Post by: Tim on February 27, 2001, 06:57:00 pm
Can anyone identify the mark on the thumb key on the socket illustrated below? Recently another historian inquired about this mark and I remember having some sockets with the same mark but never really knew what manufacturer made them. One guess was Robbins & Myers who made electrical items during this period but I haven't been able to come up with an exact match when comparing R&M tags (from old brass bladed fans for example) to the mark on this socket.

As usual any help would be greatly appreciated - someone out here must know!

Tim,
Did you ever find out anything about that socket ? I'm curious too. I think there are a lot of really nice sockets and other related items that are ending up in the trash all because no-one really realizes what they have !
