Starting from scratch
« on: August 23, 2001, 12:59:00 pm »
I have just become the recipient of about 7 cases of GE Mazda lightbulbs dating from the early 1940 (the shipping date on one of the cases is December 1942). While this is an interesting acquisition, I know next to nothing about the lightbulb collecting world and was happy to find that there is a forum on such things.

My needs are basic to start: First, I need to sort of resource that can tell me what the nomenclature for sizing of bulbs is so I can talk intelligently about them (for example I have a 20 watt florescent tube that is 23 inches long, how do I reference this?)

The second question I have is what is the market value of such things? I have several cases of 23 inch floresent tubes (white and pink), a case or so of 15 w Ivory bulbs and a case of very large (large fixture as well) round bulbs (how's that for a descriptive term?

In short, I probably have more bulbs that I will ever need but thought that folks in this forum would be interested in the possibilities.

Respondents can contact me at robgraham@learningcraft.com or leave a message here and I will check in periodically.

Thanks in advence for any assistance.
