Title: Help on bulb info
Post by: curiousgeorge on January 20, 2013, 12:25:31 pm
Going thru my parents stuff helping them consolidate there things as they are retiring and don't need half the crap they have I came across about 40 bulbs. The bulbs are Philips TUV bulbs 60w-95w reprographic bulbs. I believe they are T8. It says they are made in holland. Does anyone have any info on these bulbs? What application they are used for?

Older type of flourescent tube that emits a lot of ultra violet.
Used in older type of printing machines in order to expose light sensititive paper.
Can be run at different wattages according to the needs of the printing process.

These lamps almost certainly emit dangerous levels of UV and should therefore only be used as intended in enclosed machines.

If you have no use of them might be worth selling on fleabay, but be certain to included a warning "ultra violet lamps. Not suitable for general lighting" or some such.
