DOES ANYONE KNOW OF AN INVENTOR OF ANY TYPE OF LIGHT BULB WHO WAS OR IS A BLCK PERSON.
FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH.

The first person who comes to mind is Lewis H. Latimer. Here are two sites about Latimer that I have bookmarked which detail his life and contributions towards the incandescent lamp. I think you'll find them interesting and helpful:

Although Lewis Howard Latimer comes to mind, one should not forget Garrett A. Morgan who is credited with inventing the first traffic signal light. More about him at: http://education.dot.gov/aboutmorgan.html

I didn't notice that the question asked about a black person who might still be living. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the name of Frederick Mosby. I had the pleasure of working with and for Fred. Fred was one of a group of four (or five) persons who developed the regenerative cycle incandescent lamp at Nela Park in Cleveland.
