LED bulbs

I have replaced a few 240v Gu10's with their LED equivalents, great colour temperature and low heat output but brightness

How long before the LED's are going to be bright enough to replace normal lighting? Or are we just going to have to add more lamps? Prices are certainly heading in the right direction.
