Does any one know?
« on: January 25, 2014, 09:32:41 am »
I have been working on making C6 light strings.
It is part of a project that my son and I are working on.
They are 9 light bubble light strings with a wooden bead to fashion it to the branch.
we are looking for a epoxy to fill the under side of the socket to make sure the wires stay in the socket. Any one know what to use?

You do not really need to glue them in if they fit correctly.  You would need a high temp silicone that you can find at Home Depot.  Hope this helps you out.

It has been coming along nicley.
I do get my parts from Cindy Chipps
We use 18 gauge wire.
I do need to post a piture.
Will when I get the time
The reason I would like  seal the wires is I use a wooden bead to hold the socket on  the branch.
And to keep the wires from shorting out incase a wire decoration hanger gets there in by acident
As of lateI have gotton a little side tracked.
We all use to get our replace ment light bulbs from Paul.
I Have been looking at c6 light bulbs.
Found a sulppier who has a good price.   $.08 each  they have a 10000 moq.
They are 15 volt 3 watt e10 base. they are a white color.
They do oem orders also
they make a led for $.28 each
these are the manufactors prices they do not include shipping our customs cost our any other fees.
Have been looking into the import laws, and shipping cost to see what the total cost would be.
It would be nice to find sone one who khows the rope .
Ronald

I'm in birmingham alabama.
The suppliers are located in china.
I'm still looking into import laws.
this company has c7 led @$.45 each 10,000 min order
they have c6 white led @$.27 each 10,000 min order
The c6 15 volt 3 watt incandresent are @$.08 10,000 min order.
I have seen c7 for as low as $.05 each  50,0000 min order
The bulbs are out there , I have just started looking into it.

I still looking into the import laws.
I have to figure out the  resale value of the lights bulbs for the import dudys.
There is a lot of  red tape to clear customs.
I'm not sure what the total cost will be.
Then I have to figure out were to store the bulbs.
I have not had a lot of spare time to work on it.
not sure what I'm going to do.
what I'm looking in to frist are  warm white light bulbs to replace c6 light bulbs.
I want to see if I can find color bulbs.
What I'm doing frist is designing a web site to sell out of.
I have two domain names for it.
I'm working On the code for the web pages.
I  do not do ebay. our credit card
I'm thinking catolog sales.
With a order form that can be printed out.
Payment will be made by casher check our money order
I have part ofthe web site in a tempory location on one of my sites.
It will not be a over night thing.
There are a lot of t's to cross and i's that have to be doted
email me for the location if you are interested.
Is there enought intrest in these to make it worth while?
Would like to here if others are interested.
And what bulbs they are interested in.
