Title: Very Early 1888 Bryant Switch
Post by: cobraco on October 07, 2017, 12:49:08 pm
Hi

I have this as part of my collection. It is supposedly the first switch/prototype Bryant ever made. It was installed in the wisconsin building at the 1893 worlds fair. when they moved the building to kansas city after the fair it was demolished maybe 50 years ago and my dad did demolition he saved this piece as it was only one. They used it to showcase the new invention electric lights. If anyone is interested please make an offer. Bryant has no record of anything earlier. it says pat oct 1888

I have one of these too and I'm fairly certain this was in fact Bryant's first electric switch.  I have some old Bryant literature that even makes reference to this being their first.  I'll try and scan it and post it here if I can locate it again.  Nice find.
