Title: Tungstalite Bulbs

I have just finished reading a superb book by Oliver Sacks, called "Uncle Tungsten".  The book takes it's title from Oliver's Uncle Dave, who manufactured Tungstalite light bulbs in the 30s and 40s.  Does anyone have any further information about Tungstalite bulbs ?   The book only makes mention that they were slightly larger than other manufaturer's lamps of the same period.  I would love to know more.
