I have purchased a load of very cheap battery operated multi coloured LED lights.
They consist of 20 assorted LEDs and a battery holder for 3 AA cells.
It is a simple matter to remove the battery holder and to wire 3 sets in series for operation from 12 volts DC.
For the price they are quite good, and I wanted 12 volt DC operation for safety and convieience.

Also available in warm white and white. Intend to get some of each for use on a silver artificial Christmas tree, the mixture of white, which is actually daylight, and warm white should give a pleasing silver/gold effect.

No, much more basic than that.
AA cells, not D, 20 lamps only, no timer or control.
Only intended for indoor use, but work fine outdoors and safe at only 12 volts.

I have had some for years, and recently purchased more.
